Course Objective
The aim of this course is to enable students to analyze early childhood research to reassess the nature of the child, culture and play, so that they can make inferences about the place and importance of play in early childhood education. It is also expected that skills will be developed for the preparation of quality play environments for children and the development of play opportunities.
Course Content
• Investigation of scientific studies that reveal the historical change of play and play in different cultures • A critical view of different views of play in early childhood • Examination of contemporary play theories and pre-school education reflections • Comparative study of different approaches explaining the relationship between play, development and learning • Investigation of research explaining the concept of the play in the world and Turkey and the properties of the play • In Turkey, the investigation of studies demonstrating its impact on the learning and development of the play in the world, • Investigation of researches that investigate the effectiveness of programs and models based on play based learning • Preparing a research proposal that addresses the play in different dimensions during early childhood.
