Course Objective Within the scope of this course, in the examples of portrait art belonging to different cultures; By analyzing the relationship between technique, style and meaning, the qualities of the portrait belonging to its period and culture are examined. To provide a detailed analysis of the relationship between style and meaning on the basic painting workshop education at the undergraduate level of portrait painting techniques, which are widely used in the classical and modern periods.
Course Content Within the scope of this course, the concept of portrait as an artistic expression language is analyzed by giving basic information about the art of portraiture.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
11 Analyzes art education theories, artistic development stages and learning characteristics. Relates theory and practice knowledge. 2 To be able to draw conclusions from the findings in theory and practice using interdisciplinary methods, interprets and evaluates the data.
23 Analyzes the ability to organize the processes involving the creation of the project and its presentation with the relevant group in the field of art and art education. 4 acquires the knowledge of special consumables used in classical and modern painting techniques. 5 Analyzes the periodical forms of expression for the field.
36 analyzes the meaning relations of the classical techniques applied in the modern period in portrait. 7 Uses the knowledge of concepts and methods related to the field of art in their scientific and artistic studies 8 Follows and participates in national and international panels, seminars, workshops, symposiums, congresses and biennials related to his field.
49 Gains the skill of scanning the marrow and making publications (articles, papers, etc.). 10 Identifying a problem related to the field, doing research on this subject and examining all aspects of it creates an original thesis.
