COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective To enable students to define the art educational problems and the suggestions to solve these problems by discussing these problems in the context of the art and art education concepts, and to let the students learn about the child’s vısual expression, i.e. also called children art which is related with his mental, social, physical developmental features by defining the child as an individual.
Course Content - Concepts of culture, art, education, art education, the problematic of art education. -Art educational problems and proposals to solve these problems, -Concept of child, child's physical, mental, social developmental characteristics, and the features of artistic development that began to be experienced from very young age to adulthood. -The general characteristics of two-and three-dimensional children's activities, original examples of children's work and formal analysis, -False and / or incomplete applications to art education, child and adult reflections on artistic works, -Types of visual perception, -The child's artistic work and its importance in education.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Acquire the knowledge of the concepts of art, culture, education, art education, creativity and the secondary concepts associated with these concepts and have the skill to question of these concepts
2Acquire the knowledge of art educational problems and their causes, the suggestions to solve these problems
3Acquires the knowledge of the physical, mental, social development characteristics of children, and the developmental features visual expression that associated with his general development.
4Acquires the knowledge of examining the child’s two or three-dimensional art work, and identfying the forms, colors and subjects of these works.
5Acquires the knowledge of identifying the factors harming the child's creativity, and develop suggestions to eliminate these factors.
