COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of this course is to provide a basic insight to students about the basic concepts of personality, development of personality, adjustment and mental health, theories of personality, and also to provide a general view about human development and crisis in the varied life periods.
Course Content An introduction to the concepts of personality and adjustment, major personality theories, research strategies, the nature and effects of stress, effective and ineffective coping strategies, motivation and personality assessment, cultural influences on personality and different cultural patterns of adjustment.  
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

1To be able to undersatand the basic concepts related to personality and adjustment
2To be able to recognize different theoretical explanations of personality development
3To be able to discuss the factors influencing the adjustment process
4To be able to know the methods and techniques of personality and adjustment research
5To be able to realize the adjustment problems in different life stages
6To be able to realize the developmental and psychological needs of individuals who have different adjustment problems
7To be able to understand the effective adjustment strategies
8To be able to use the higher-order thinking skills to understand the processes of personality development and adjustment
9To be able to exhibit the observation, presentation, research and reporting skills in the field of personality and adjustment
