Course Objective The aim of this course is to provide for each student a basic insight about the objectives, basic concepts, purpose, and requirements associated with effective counseling process and theories. 
Course Content Need of theory in counseling, personal characteristics of effective counselor, ethic issues in counseling practice, psychoanalytic counseling, adlerian counseling, existential counseling, person-centered counseling, gestaltian counseling, transactional analyses, behavioral counseling, cognitive approaches.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To be able to know the basic concepts, principles, generalizations and assumptions about counseling theories
2To be able to understand the philosophical foundations of different counseling theories
3To be able to know the legal procedures and ethical rules about counseling process
4To be able to gain the knowledge, skills and awareness about counseling theories
5To be able to discuss the theories of counseling based on similarities and differences
6To be able to exhibit the higher-order thinking skills discussing counseling theories
7To be able to exhibit the presentation, observation and reporting skills discussing counseling theories
8To be able to know the basic descriptions and concepts of different counseling theories
9To be able to understand the role and functions of client and counselor according to different theories of counseling
10To be able to develop a personal style of counseling process
11To be able to develop a conceptual and theoretical framework can be used counseling applications
12To be able to follow the improvements in the field of counseling
