Course Objective The aim of this course is to instruct students about the nature of proof, historical process of proof, the types of proof and areas of usage in mathematics education. It is aimed to make students know and use proof from kinder garden to university. It is aimed to make students perform proof and use it in the future teaching post, to take proof into account in every stage of teaching experiences with new knowledge about the nature of proof
Course Content The definition, the role and the aim of proof, the changes of proof in historical process and different meanings of proof in this change, today’s sense of proof and the importance of it, types of proof and areas of usage, examining the “Reasoning and Proof” standard of NCTM in all elementary grades, producing proof activities adaptable to the new curriculum, proof schemes, student difficulties about proof concept
