Course Objective The aim of this lesson is to improve the mathematics teachers' pedagogical content knowledge and to provide for the mathematics teachers to have necessary knowledge and awareness about learning and teaching mathematics effectively by designing their instructions to students' thinking and considering their students' prior knowledge, difficulties, errors, misconceptions, understandings for mathematics and different situations during their instructions.
Course Content Examining different models regarding content and pedagogical content knowledge. Discussing the importance of mathematics knowledge for teaching. Examining the content of knowledge of student thinking and discussing the importance for learning mathematics effectively. Examining how a lesson plan will be done focusing students' thinking. Examining different mathematics lessons in the context of knowledge of students' thinking. Preparing a lesson plan by focusing students' thinking about different mathematics concepts.
