Course Objective
The aim of this course is to provide architecture graduate students with information about the concept of World Heritage, its criteria, the areas on the temporary and permanent heritage lists and the conservation practices in these areas, and to have information about the characteristics of these areas. heritage area while working in related fields.
Course Content
The content of this course; The establishment and duties of UNESCO, the concept of World Heritage, the 1972 Paris and Nairobi congresses, the "1972 Convention for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage", its obligations, the UNESCO World Heritage List, which was created taking into account the Outstanding Universal Value of cultural assets, and the selection criteria and processes of Cultural Properties to the World Heritage List World Heritage Committee work evaluation methods World heritage application guide and the method of using the guide, World heritage list, scope, and content International institutions and organizations within the world heritage system, ICCROM, ICOMOS, UICN, and their functions, ICOMOS World Cultural Heritage impact assessment guide, the List of World Heritage at Risk, protection criteria in World Heritage areas, and the effects of these criteria on architectural conservation and national and international problems related to conservation practices in World Heritage areas.
