Course Objective At the end of this course, students will learn about the theory and working principles of traditional and new generation photovoltaic (PV) technologies, their applications to current and future sustainable energy systems, the basics of solar radiation and geometry, economic, environmental and social criteria. In this field, it is aimed to calculate the performance of the PV power system by analyzing the different components of the PV power system, as well as gaining the necessary knowledge and skills necessary for the identification and selection of the equipment in this field.
Course Content Structural elements of the photovoltaic power system, Physical working principles of the solar cell, Equivalent circuit and electrical properties of the solar cell, The effect of the sun coming to the photovoltaic receiver at different angles, Electrochemical energy storageers, Power converters used in photovoltaic systems, Self-sufficient and grid-connected photovoltaic systems, Photovoltaic systems design according to the intended use
