Course Objective The aim of this course is to study “designed urban cases” within the intersection of city-architecture relationship in the context of modernization processes, especially in the metropolitan scale, through the architectural perspective. The intention is to study processes of the reproduction of urban space along with discourses of modernity and to read and analyze urban projects within spatio-temporal, socio-cultural and administrative-economical transformations and to develop a critical perspective to the projects in question with a deconstructive method.
Course Content The historical background of metropols emerging within modernization processes and spatial elements and architectural design dynamics of globalisation will be open to discussion with contemporary examples around the world.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.

2To evaluate modernization processes through the relationship of city and architectue.
