COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective Colour has great importance in textile industry. In this course, it will be mentioned about how the human eyes can see, hot and cold colours, colour armonies and blends. It also will be explained the determination of colours contained by a sample, colour measurement systems and types by computer, remission, K/S values and graphs obtained by the systems. Moreover the determination of colour difference and the formulas for that will be described. Metamery index, whiteness and yellowness degree, the control of the fastness, reject/accept toleration will be explained. It will be mentioned the determination of the recipe by using spectrophotometer. The assignments about colour information will be given to students and some papers will be investigated.
Course Content To give information about colour description, light, light sources and light interactions, colour harmony, K/S values, tristimulus values, colour systems and whiteness measurement, evalution of colour differences, colour measurement with computer and recipe prediction
