Course Content Introduction to Analysis of Laminates, Theory of Laminated Plates, Theory of Laminated Plates with Coupling, Stiffness Characteristics of Selected Laminate Configurations, Symmetric and Antisymmetric Laminates, Quasi-Isotropic Laminates, Derivation and Use of Laminate, Inversions of Laminate Force-Deformation Equation, Determination of Lamina Stresses and Strains, Determination of Laminate Engineering Constants, Hygrothermal Effects in Laminates, Hygrothermal Degradation of Laminates, Hygrothermal Stresses in Laminates, Laminate Hygrothermal Expansion Coefficient, Interlaminar Stresses, Laminate Strength Analysis, First Ply Failure due to In-Plane Stresses, Delamination due to Interlaminar Stresses, Deflection and Buckling of Laminates, Analysis of Small Transverse Deflections, Buckling Analyzing, Selection of Laminate Design, Analysis of Plates Composed of Composite Materials, Anisotropic Plates Utilizing Classical Plate Theory, Anisotropic Plates Including Transverse Shear Deformation, Reissner’s Variational Theorem and Its Applications, Behavior of Simply-Supported, Cross-Ply Laminated Plates under Static Lateral and Plane Loads, The Elastic Stability of Specially Orthotropic Plates Due To In-Plane Loads For Various Boundary Conditions, Anisotropic Shells Utilizing Classical Shell Theory, Anisotropic Shells Including Transverse Shear Deformation, Anisotropic Laminated Cylindrical Shells, Stress in a Circular Cylindrical Shell Subjected To a Localized Load.
