JEO 554SAMPLING AND PHYSICOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS METHODS OF SURFACE AND GROUNDWATER3 + 01st Semester6

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Master's Degree
Course Type Elective
Course Objective In hydrogeochemical investigations, interpretations on physico-chemical measurements and analyses of waters are very important. For reliable hydrogeochemical interpretations, selection of sampling locations, sampling and chemical analyses have to be confident. The course is focus on these subjects.
Course Content In-situ physico-chemical measurements and analyses of thermal fluids and waters from precipitation, sea, lake, river, well and spring; selection of sampling point for physical, chemical and isotopic analyses; sampling and sample preservation procedures; preparation of standards for chemical analyses; chemical analyses in laboratory (by titrimetric method and using spectrophotometer (UV), flame photometer and atomic absorption spectrometer instruments); graphic representations, evaluations of analytic results and interpretations.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Understanding the physicochemical properties of waters, insitu measuring techniques, selection of sampling location, sampling and laboratory analysis techniques
