Course Objective Identifying and describing the metamorphic rocks and explanating how the rocks formed in nature. Demonstrating how to recognise and classify all of the metamorphic rocks in hand specimens and thin sections Learning the principles behind metamorphic rock forming processes
Course Content Factors of metamorphism, basic minerals of metamorphic rocks, metamorphic rock textures , petrotectonic investigations and their significations, variations of mineral composition according to progressif metamorphism, showing mineral assemblages on diagrams, metamorphic facies, contact metamorphic settings and basic metamorphic rocks.
