COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Master's Degree
Course Type Elective
Course Objective The main purpose this course is to provide detailed information about the nonlinear behavior of reinforced concrete members which is crucially important during seismic response of buildings to the earthquakes and to investigate the effect of structural parameters on nonlinear behavior of R/C members.
Course Content Material models, behavior of RC members under flexure, strain based damage assesment, force and displacement response of RC members under shear, slip deformations. .
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To check existing knowledge presented in design codes and practices about the R/C member behavior.
2To give an information about the aims and the outcomes of nonlinear R/C members.
3To give information about the major components of nonlinear response which are flexure, shear and slip.
4Able to calculate load- displacement response of R/C members which include the effects of flexure, shear and slip.
