COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Master's Degree

Course Objective To give the students detailed information on river hydraulics. To teach rotational and irrotational flows in the shoreline, generation and propagation of waves.
Course Content Basic issues of hydrodynamics: kinematics, transfer theorem, conservation of mass, Eularian motion equation, conservation of circulation-Thomas theorem, Irrotational flow- potential theory, Boundary value problems, Basic source and vortex in infinite flow media, Comples potential in infinite flow media. General formulation of a surface wave; Linearization, Shallow water theory, Standing waves, Circular waves, Vibration of fluid in rectangular tank-Seichs. Progressive waves, Gravity waves and energy trasfer in wave group velocity, Pulstating waves based on source free surface, Wave potential in deep water, Pressure disrtubtion generated waves, Segmental pressure waves, 3D source based waves. .
