Course Objective The aim of this course is transfer of information about the control and treatment technics of contamination due to natural and synthetic organic matters.
Course Content Organic matter in drinking water; Characteristics of organic matter; Organic pollution sources and polluting substances; Organic substances analysis and measurement techniques (TOC, absorbance, color, florasance), Organic matter and formation of disinfection by-products (THMs, HAAs and other organic by-products) in drinking water, Threatment methods: Air striping processes, coagulation methods, Adsorption and Ion Exchange, Oxidation processes: Ozone/UV, H2O2/UV and H2O2/Ozone; Filtration techniques (Membrane processes): Reverse osmosis and ultrafiltration.

2Student decides and designs the treatment sludge processing units in the direction of legal regulations.
