COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective	The aim of this course is to provide graduate students with information about diabetes, to provide them with knowledge and skills in the management and education of individuals diagnosed with diabetes, and to provide them with information on the implementation of evidence-based nursing interventions.
Course Content	Definition, epidemiology, classification and diagnostic criteria of diabetes, roles and responsibilities of the diabetes nurse, evaluation of individuals with diabetes, treatment principles in diabetes, medical nutrition therapy and nursing management in diabetes, diabetes and exercise, oral antidiabetic drug treatment and nursing management, insulin therapy and nursing management, diabetes. It covers acute complications, chronic complications of diabetes, foot care in diabetes, diabetes management in special cases, diseases accompanying diabetes and their management, self-monitoring in diabetes and its importance
