Course Objective	This course aims to teach students the basic concepts of hospital and surgical site infections, the duties, authorities, and responsibilities of the infection control committee and the nurse, the principles of asepsis and antisepsis for the prevention of hospital and surgical site infections, and to provide information on evidence-based guidelines.
Course Content	In the content of the infection control in surgery course, the definition of the basic concepts related to hospital and surgical site infections, its historical development, the duties, powers, and responsibilities of the infection control nurse, risk factors of hospital and surgical site infections, protective measures, asepsis antisepsis principles for the prevention of hospital and surgical site infections and Topics related to current evidence-based practices are included.
