Course Objective This course aims to provide an overview of the neurobiology of behavior to the students of the psychiatric nursing master's program and to help them understand the relationship between the brain and behavior. It also aims to focus on how neurobiological knowledge can be applied in psychiatric nursing, with a focus on the assessment and management of patients with mental disorders.
Course Content This course provides an overview of the neurobiology of behavior and helps students in the psychiatric nursing master's program to understand the relationship between the brain and behavior. In addition, the assessment and management of patients with mental disorders will be addressed, with a focus on how neurobiological knowledge can be applied in psychiatric nursing.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Students will understand the relationship between the brain and behavior and acquire the basic knowledge necessary to understand the neurobiology of psychiatric disorders.
2Students will learn about the effects of neurotransmitters on behavior and will learn the structure and functioning of the nervous system and neural communication.
3Students will be able to acquire skills to address topics such as sensory perception and processing, motor control and movement disorders, pain, and analgesia.
4Students will be able to evaluate the impact of neurobiological concepts in psychiatric nursing practice
5Students will be able to understand the importance of mental status examination and gain the ability to evaluate the results of the examination by performing an appropriate mental status examination of the patient
