Course Objective In this course, it is aimed that the student will be able to transfer the theories in the field of psychiatric nursing and theoretical knowledge about diseases to clinical practice, plan and implement the care of individuals with mental problems, and develop the ability to intervene in emergency situations.
Course Content Evaluating individuals with obsessive-compulsive disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorders, dissociation disorders, somatic symptom disorders, sleep disorders, sexual dysfunctions, and eating disorders, adapting the theories in the field of psychiatric nursing to the care plan, developing counseling and assistance skills use constitutes the content of the course.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Will be able to evaluate healthy or sick individuals holistically in line with the philosophy, principles, and standards of psychiatric nursing.
2Will be able to interview individuals with mental problems using effective communication skills.
3Will be able to adapt the theories in the field of Psychiatric Nursing and the roles of psychiatric nursing to the care plan.
4Will be able to correctly evaluate the needs of individuals with mental problems in line with their knowledge and evaluations.
5Will be able to apply specific (protective, improving, curative) care to the needs of individuals.
6Will be able to use counseling and assistance skills while caring for a healthy or sick individual.
