Course Objective During this lecture, the care of the child with burn, injury, poisoning, obstruction in respiratory tracks and respiratory distress, seizure and other emergency or critical case are discussed
Course Content Introduction of course Pediatric emergency and intensive care ethics and legal issues Emergency and intensive care of the child and family nursing care (stress response, coping, psychosocial needs, the death-loss) Medical history and physical assesment Triage ve transport I. Midterm Exams Emergency respiratory and cardiovascular problems Neurological emergency problems Urgent problems of gastrointestinal and genitourinary The boy is in intensive care with respiratory problems and nursing care The child's cardiovascular system problems in intensive care, and nursing care II. Midterm Exams The child's neurological system problems in intensive care and nursing care Nursing care of child’s renal and endocrine system problems in intensive care unit

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Identify the legal and ethical issues in emergency and intensive care units, and the appropriate legal and ethical approaches.
2Identify triage in emergency situations to rank the most important priorities of children, and identify the appropriate transport
3Identify the developmental differences of children in emergency and intensive care unit, and appropriate nursing approaches
4Explain the important issues and emergencies of child's respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, gastrointestinal and genitourinary systems, and nursing approach.
5Explain the problems of the child's respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, gastrointestinal and genitourinary systems, and nursing approach in intensive care units.
