Course Objective The aim of this course is to teach students the fundamental theoretical concepts, application techniques involved in data communication and computer networks, basic theories essential to the understanding of communications systems and computer networks, security primitives and protocols.
Course Content Overview of Cryptography, Identification and Authentication, Access Control, Operating System Security, Key Distribution, TCP/IP Security, IPSec, WWW Security, SSL and TLS, E-Mail Security, (PGP, S/MIME), PKI and certificate systems, Viruses, Firewalls, Intrusion Detection, E-Commerce Security.
