Course Objective The aim of this course is to present effects of the geographical discoveries in 15th and 16th centuries to Ottoman Empire and European States and accordingly teach the struggle and policies of Ottoman Empire towards European States in the Mediterranean and Indian Ocean. The dominance of Ottoman Empire on the Red Sea shores and the struggle against Portugal will be examined.
Course Content The struggles of Ottoman Empire and European States in 15th and 16th centuries in the Mediterranean and Indian Ocean and beyond ocean, their political stances and policies.
