Course Objective This course is intended for those who wish to pursue an MA study in the field of Ancient Greek, Roman and Byzantine history. The aim of the course is to provide a sense of basic Greek language and culture.
Course Content The origins of the Greek language, its alphabet, its pronounciation, its accentuation and its basic grammer ar to be learnt during the class. The course is intended for two terms. The Joint Association of the Classical Teacher’s Greek Course: Reading Greek, (Text, Gramer, Vocabulary and Exercises) (Cambridge 2007) will be used as a course material, sections 4-6 will be studied in the second term.
