Course Content The meaning of the concept of Enlightenment; Enlightenment definitions and comments; Science, Epistemology and Metaphysics in Enlightenment; Political Theory, Ethical Theory and Religion in Enlightenment; Aesthetics in Enlightenment; British (Scottish) Enlightenment movement: Locke, F. Hutcheson, Hume, A. Smith, T. Reid; French Enlightenment Movement: Voltaire, Diderot, D'Alembert, Le Mettrie, Helvetius, D’Holbach, Rousseau, Montesquieu; German Enlightenment Movement: Wolff, M. Mendelssohn, Lessing and Kant; The relationship between Enlightenment and Modernity; Enlightenment criticism
