Course Objective The aim of this course is to examine and evaluate all aspects of Cartesian philosophy by adhering to Descartes' own original works.
Course Content Life and Age of Descartes, Science and Philosophy in the Seventeenth Century, Cartesian Method, Knowledge, Intuition, Doubt, First Principles, Consciousness, God, Prevention of Error, Structure and Knowledge of the Physical World, Role of God in Physics; Cartesian Cycle, Reason and Senses, Nature of the Spaced Dust, Science, Mathematics and Mechanical Models; Cartesian People: It includes the subjects of People, Machines and Animals, The Thinking Thing, Cartesian Dualism and Problems, Mind-Body Unity, Sensation and Imagination, Congenital Thoughts, Freedom, Reason and Good Life.
