Course Objective	The aim of this course is to evaluate rationalist and empirical tradition's approaches to the problems of philosophy.
Course Content	This course will include the following topics: definition, history and methods of rationalism; Rationalism in ancient philosophy: Elea school, Parmenides, Zenon, Plato and Aristotle; Rationalism in continental philosophy: Descartes (doubt, knowledge, mathematics, 'Cartesian Cycle' and science); Spinoza (deductive method, substance, mind-body relationship, imperative); Malebranche (mind-body interaction, vision, instrumentality in God); Leibniz (mind lines and fact lines, sufficient reason principle, monads, mind-body problem, necessity and freedom).
