COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of the course is; to know and comprehend the basic concepts, ethical rules, and social norms, related to bioethics and nursery philosophy with nursery deontology and to reflect these to their professional experiences; to decide ethically on the problems concerning modern medical initiation and care.
Course Content To know the basic principles and concepts and theories deontology, Declaration, universal right declarations, Republic of Turkey Constitution, concepts of patient rights, Evaluation of patients right regulations, İnformed consent, and malpractice, To know developments to cause of ethical debate in medical sciences, General concepts, transplantation of an organ and tissue, Euthanasia. Variety of Legal arrangement, Historical alterations code of laws of the health professions in the world, Prehistoric era, Universal leaders of historic era, Florance Nightingale, Republic period leaders. Historical alterations in health systems, changes and developments in general health systems, Nursing as a profession, profession concepts and definition, characteristics of the profession. Role concepts and definition, Traditional role and functions of nursing, Contemporary roles of nursing. Interdisciplinary team approach to health. Historical development of nursing in Turkey and nursing education problems.
