Course Objective To help students to understand the importance of language and culture with social experience.
Course Content Basic concepts of language and culture; sources and elements of culture; oral and written culture; material and spiritual culture; culture from individual and social perspectives; culture as binding and disintegrating; acculturation, acculturation, cultural expansion and harmony; culture in terms of cognitive, symbolic, structural-functional approaches; language as a system of symbols; language and language acquisition in individual terms; the effect of language on human consciousness; the relationship between culture, language, cognition and reality; knowledge and culture of language, social relations and communication function; development and transfer of language and culture; national identity and language; dynamics of changes in culture and language; debates on the interplay of changes in culture and language; national cultures; globalization, multilingualism and multiculturalism.
