Course Objective The aim of the course is to enable students to comprehension of Turkey’s modernation process from 18st century to 1938.
Course Content Modernization concept, the emergence of reform idea in Ottoman, Tulip Period, administrative, reform action on judical, financial, education, law in Selim III, Mahmud II.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

1To be able to analyze the process of emergence of the modern Republic of Turkey

5To be able to explain the modernization movements in the Ottoman period.
6To be able to analyze the effects of the Ottoman enlightenment on the Republican period
7To be able to comprehend the importance of the founder staff of the Republic in Turkish political and cultural history
8To be able to explain the Republic of Turkey's founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's education, science and culture vision
9To be able to recognize the works given in the context of the contemporaryization of the Republican era.
10To understand the leading role of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in the history of modernization
11To be able to evaluate national and global social problems from a critical point of view
