Course Objective This course is designed for prospective teachers to analyze classroom management for structure, system, process, education and discipline perspectives. To acquire fundamental knowledge and skills related to effective classroom management. To examine classroom management issues for developing a critical perspective to classroom management strategies. To develop awareness of teacher-parent cooperation in maintaining effective teaching and learning process.
Course Content Basic concepts related to clasroom management; physical, social and psychological perspectives of clasroom context; classroom rules and discipline; models related to classroom discipline and management; management of student behaviour, communication and interaction process in classroom; student motivation, time management, teacher as an educational leader in classroom; management of teacher-parent meetings; creating a positive classroom and learning environment; case studies related to classroom management according to school levels.
