Course Objective This course will provide an overview of macroeconomic issues: the determination of output, employment, unemployment, interest rates, and inflation. Monetary and fiscal policies are discussed, as are the public debt and international economic issues. .
Course Content Introduction, National product accounting, Income and Aggregate Demand, Money, interest and income, Monetary and fiscal policy, Consumption and saving, Investment expenditures. Money demand, Central bank, Money and credit, Financial markets and assets prices.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Explain macroeconomic concepts and the relationships among them
2Explain relationships among macroeconomic variables such as gross domestic product, unemployment, inflation, recession and expansion, budget deficit, interest rate, export and import, trade balance, economic fluctuations
3Construct macroeconomic models and use these models to analyse the effects of macroeconomic policies on the macroeconomic variables.
4Explain the effects monetary and fiscal policy in the short and long run on the macroeconomic variables
5Evaluate and foresee the outcome of monetary and fiscal policy
6Identify and provide possible solutions to the problem of inflation and unemployment
7Model the consumption and investment to analyze their effects on the economy.
8Use an aggregate demand and aggregate supply macroeconomic model to interpret the effect of economic shocks on inflation and output.
