Course Objective - To review existing literature and theory in the field of value chain and supply chain strategies and help students to understand the theoretical foundation of supply chain strategies, its processes, tools and implementation within corporations - To help students to recognize and analyze management-related issues and get an overview of relevant strategic management activities - To provide comprehensive foundation to enable the student to understand and analyze supply chain strategic decisions by using case studies and experimental exercises
Course Content Important elements covered in the course but not limited to include the following: Basic concepts of strategic management, Concepts of strategic logistics and supply chain management, value chain management,Strategy formulation in logistics and supply chain management , Performance management in value chains, Strategy deployment and implementation in logistics and supply chain management, Differentiation through supply chain strategies, Customer service strategy in logistics and supply chain management, Competitive strategies in supply chains, Strategy debate in logistics and supply chain management, Distribution channel strategies in global markets.

1Student will be able to use the related concepts, terminology in terms of strategic logistics , supply chain management.
2Student will be able to implement the current strategy applications in logistics and supply chain management.
3Student will be able to explain the importance of strategy formulation and implementation in logistics and supply chain management.
4Student will be able to evaluate strategic logistics management issues from different perspectives.
5Student will be able define the stages to create a strategy.
