Course Objective The aim of this course is to introduce students with fundamental machine elements in mechanical systems. Classification by function of machine elements, shaping, sizing, material selection and strength to teach accounts.
Course Content Classification and functional analysis of machine elements. Motion and power transmission elements: Couplings, Clutches, Gear mechanisms, Chain mechanisms, Belt and pulley mechanisms. Tribology: Friction, wear, lubrication and bearings.
