COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Bachelor's Degree
Course Type Compulsory
Course Objective The aim of this course is to provide the knowledge and capability of design, maintenance and repair works of automotive electrical and electronic systems.
Course Content Batteries, their types, properties, charge and discharge testing, battery testing, starter systems, wiring diagrams, characteristics the starter motor, starter motor selection and experiments, the starter system applications and examining different starter motors, charging systems, wiring diagrams, AC-DC conversion, alternator characteristics, alternator selection and testing, alternator regulators, charging system applications, examination of different charging systems, ignition systems, magnetism, circuit elements, the operation of the system, the ignition system types, examining various ignition systems and ignition system tests, vehicle electric circuit elements, switches, lighting systems, warning systems, windshield wipers, horns, signal systems, display systems, signal transmission techniques and types of sensors, digital display systems, establishing and analyzing circuit boards.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To explain the simple electrical and electronic circuits functionally.
2Ability to analyze simple electrical circuits.
3To understand the direct and alternating current circuits and apply to compensation methods in AC circuits.
4To understand the working principles of electromechanical devices and to use such equipment.
5To understand the basic logic of the systems like Microprocessor and PLC, and develop simple applications.
6To understand the working principles and applications of the drive engines and To understand control methods.
