Course Objective Teaching the causes, effects and the elimination methods of the mechanical vibrations in vehicles.
Course Content Elements of systems causing vibration and vibration terminology. Modeling investigation of behaviors of a system consisting of a mass, a spring and a damper having a single degree of freedom and linear motion. Determination of the spring constants of the springs connected in series, parallel. Determination of the spring constants of the elastic bending beams and rods. The calculation of the motion equation and investigating behaviors of a torsional vibrating pulley on a shaft. Determination of torsional spring constants of the shafts. Determination of the natural frequencies of systems with one ant two degrese of freedom. The linear motion of systems with one and two degrees of freedom. Modeling of wheel coupling systems in terms of vibration. Torsional vibrations of the engine block and modeling of motor connection ears. Modelling of the reflection of the vibrations from the ground to passengers.
