Course Objective Teaching students the purpose and importance of lubrication, lubricant properties and lubrication systems.
Course Content What is lubrication, causes that requires lubrication, historical development of lubrication, production, lubrication in vehicles, hydrodynamic and hydrostatic lubrication, filters, determination of viscosity, synthetic oils and additives.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Knows tribological systems. Knows the elements need lubrication and lubrication systems.
2Selects the appropriate oil for motor vehicles parts and systems.
3Determines the properties of the oil, and examines the effects of lubrication on the wear tests.
4Know types of lubricating systems and components, describes and explains the operating principle.
5Checks the lubrication system distinguishes which elements will be repaired or replaced.
