Course Content Introduction to tribology and importance in engineering, tribology surface shape, roughness analysis and measurement techniques, Formation of fluid film bearings, thermal and elastic effects generalized Reynolds equation, (THD) Thermo-hydrodynamic (EHD) Elasto Hydrodynamic, solution methods, hydrodynamic and hydrostatic bearings, implementation of hydrodynamic instability, theories of friction and wear, friction and wear types, classification, working in dry and semi-liquid friction bearings, lubricants and lubrication technology, friction and wear measurement methods, friction and wear tests, friction and wear data bank
