Course Objective
The aim of this course is; chemistry of metal, polymer, ceramic, composite and advanced materials; explain the properties of these materials; establishing the periodic table; effect of chemical bond types and complex structures of materials; solubility rules, acids, bases, pH, buffers, ligand exchange, redox, reactions; Investigation of amorphous solids according to the structure of glass, slag, boride, metal boride, metal carbide, metal nitride, metal oxide, intermetallic and transition metals; electrical conductivity, optical and thermal properties; synthesis of inorganic materials from gas, solution and solid reactions; It is to learn the properties and electrochemical behavior of metals and alloys.
Course Content
In this course, material properties will be explained according to their place in the periodic table. Surface properties of solids, synthesis of inorganic materials from gas, solution and solid reactions, thermal, optical, magnetic properties of materials, coordination chemistry and common electrochemical behavior of materials are topics to be covered in the course. Metal, ceramic and polymer chemistry and physical chemistry will be studied.
