Course Objective The aim of this course is to give information about the contemporary approaches in environmental systems; thermal comfort, acoustics, natural lighting and noise control.
Course Content This course has fundamental knowledge about; concept of physical environment and elements of building physics, basic principles of solar control, fundamentals of heat transfer, measures of heat transfer from building envelope, heat and humidity, heat and humidity transfer of building materials, condensation, architectural acoustics, building and room acoustics, sound and noise, radiation, reflection and transmission of sound, noise control in buildings topics.
Prerequisites MIM 204 ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN II
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To recognise the basic elements of ventilation and climatization.
2To recognise the components of sustainability concept and ability to generate a new sustainable design.
3To have fundamental knowledge about the issues of lightning, acoustics, energy and insulation together with a final Project (Solar House).
