Course Objective
This course aims to enhance students' written communication skills at an academic level, provide students with proper and effective writing strategies, ensure the correct and appropriate use of language in academic texts, teach students source usage and citation rules, develop research skills to improve information gathering and analysis abilities, understand different academic text genres and applying writing skills in those genres.
Course Content
The content of this course includes practical exercises and materials about academic writing conventions, critical thinking and analysis, structuring and organizing academic papers, developing strong thesis statements, paragraph development, academic vocabulary and style, grammar and sentence structure, research skills, academic integrity, and revision and editing; writing assignments, and peer-teacher feedbacks to provide students with opportunities to apply and strengthen their academic writing skills.
