Course Objective 1. Define the features and variations of the image. 2. Explain the sampling of image. 3. Distinguish image formats, image enhancement techniques. 4. Explain image filtering and variations. 5. Explain two-dimensional fourier and fast Fourier transformation of images. 6. Explain image data compression and variations.
Course Content Fundamentals of images, colour models, human visual system, computer visual system, two dimensional image transforms, basic image processing operations, filters, basic feature extraction, shape matching, classification, labelling

6Manages basic image processing operations, using an image processing software package.
7Designs improvements/re-arrangements on related algorithms/program codes.
