Course Objective Students of textile engineering program are expected to improve their ability and knowledge about the effective use of computer and information technologies in their student based applications and professional life, such as reporting, presentation preparation stages, and home work preparation. Textile engineering applications of IT are also studied and students will have information about new improvements.
Course Content Applications of word processing programs and use of their advance level tools, for the preparations of thesis, report, or any other academic document. Application of Excel programs and use of their advance level tools, for the preparations of thesis, report, academic document and engineering applications. Applications of presentation programs and use of their advance level tools, for the preparations of any presentation of a report, academic document and engineering applications. Advance use of Outlook program, and its application in textile enginnering practices. Data base programs and their applications in in textile enginnering practices.

1 MS Word: page formatting, page styles to be applied to any document, writing in creating sections (insert tab), use of the parent-child information, cross-reference.
2 MS Word: Inserting images and tables, equations writing, different page numbering between chapters, automatic figures, tables and index list creation.
3 MS Word: footnotes, end notes, advanced formatting features, find-replace methods, point to the other facilitator setting.
4 MS Excel: Working with cells, cell formatting and creating tables.
5 MS Excel: Formula calculations and functions.
6 MS Excel: Data analysis (histogram) and using Solver (solvent) plug-ins.
7 MS Excel: Creating graphics, macro input, data filtering and conditional formatting.
8 MS Excel: Explanation of mail merge tool using with MS Word or Outlook.
9 Midterm exam
10 Outlook e-mail account and address book creation, and matching the object with the mobile phone address book, calendar, messages grouping, and create rules, be called to back up the existing transmission and backup.
11 Preparation of presentations with Microsoft PowerPoint, the presentation of audio, video, adding the flash object, the master slide view, transitions, animation.
12 The creation of infrastructure with Microsoft Access database, preparation of tables, introduction of table data type, the use of forms and reports.
13 Working with the Design view in Microsoft Access; table-report-form description of the query, sort, query creation in design view.
14 Action in Microsoft Access settings, usage of form elements, introduction of basic Visual Basic script.
