Course Objective The aim of this course is to provide the students with an empirical framework grounded in a theoretically driven discussion, in order to understand trade politics dynamics of the EU in the present international economic system.
Course Content In this course, the evolution of the EU’s trade policies and its implications for various sectors, social groups and governnance will be critically analyzed

1Evaluate the implications of the expansion of the international trade in the last few decades for the EU
2Compare declining importance of agriculture within the EU with the expanding political importance of agriculture within the world trading system
3Connect the link between the fiscal and monetary policies of the the EU and the emerging trade imbalances within the EU
4Explain the decision making process regarding the trade policies at different levels of the EU governance
