Course Objective Provide information about the new students to the chemistry department of chemical engineering and to teach the basic concepts of chemistry.
Course Content The history and importance of chemistry. General properties of matter. Atomic theory, mole concept and stoichiometry. Structural and physical properties of the substance. Gases, liquids and solids. The intermolecular forces. Atomic and molecular structure. Compounds, molecules and molecular formulas, ions and ionic compounds. Electronic configuration and periodic table. Chemical bonding, ionic, covalent and metallic. Intermolecular interactions.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
