COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Bachelor's Degree
Course Type Elective
Course Objective Purification of waste waters, paint, inks, detergents such as adsorption of ions in the many applications in the industry. To create the theoretical background of adsorption processes at the solid-liquid and solid-liquid interface.
Course Content Giving the definition of physical and chemical adsorption. Solid-gas and provide information on the adsorption of solid-liquid interface. Teaching the concept of adsorption equilibrium. Basic principles of ion exchange, adsorption and ion exchange factors affecting the process. The basic principles of adsorption in the fixed bed column. Adsorbents, surface properties, structure, surface area and pore size distribution determination made. Surfactants and giving adsorption properties of the polymer.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Learn the distinction between physical and chemical adsorption.
2The surfaces of the event will have information about the basic principles of balance.
3Solid gas and understand the principles of adsorption at the solid-liquid interface and adsorption isotherm models who learns balance.
4Adsorption of ions (ion exchange), adsorption from solutions of surfactants and polymers have information about adsorption to solid surfaces.
