MENG 438NUMERICAL SIMULATION IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DESIGN - II2 + 08th Semester3,5

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Bachelor's Degree
Course Type Elective
Course Objective To give students the skills and abilities of modeling and solving advanced engineering linear and non-linear problems by using a comprehensive program (ANSYS) written based on finite element method.
Course Content Introduce finite element method as a simulation method, using a finite element program (ANSYS), two-and three-dimensional model generation in this program, creation of finite element network, selection of materials, application of boundary conditions, perform of linear and nonlinear solutions, and evaluations of them. Analysis of structures under time depended loads, application of design optimization problems and solution of dynamically loaded beams, linear and nonlinear buckling analysis, elasto-plastic stress and strain analysis of plates and discs, modeling of laminated composite structures, linear and non-linear stress-strain analysis of composites are done by using an improved finite element program, and evaluating of results. .
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Students will be learned a package program written on finite element method for modeling, analyzing engineering problems, and also evaluating the results.
