Course Objective 1.To acquire a knowledge of psychology and human behavior as related to industrial setting. 2.To develop an understanding of the application of counseling theories to management of people in business and industrial environments. 3.To develop an understanding of the application of counseling techniques and principles to employer-employee relationships, and other human relationships in business and industry. 4.To explore and interpret the methods and significance of developing and maintaining positive communication and human relationships in a work environment. 5.To acquire an understanding of leadership styles, management principles, and planning processes used in the industrial setting. 6.To explain the characteristics of work group behavior and describe effective ways of managing or supervising groups. 7.To describe ways of settling conflicts and promoting cooperative worker attitudes. 8.To acquire a knowledge of the approaches and methods utilized for employee training, appraisal and counseling. .
Course Content The field of industrial psychology Counseling theories, techniques and principles to business and industry. Motivation theories and their applications Groups in organizations Leadership and leadership styles Communication and human relationships in a work environment Conflict management in industrial setting Personnel selection and classification Job analysis and job evaluation Performance appraisal Employee training and development.
