Course Objective The content of this course includes the topics of the evaluation of the mechanisms affecting learning and designing a learning context to support optimal learning experience. During the classes, cognitive and motivational factors affecting learning process such as strategy use, task value, locus of control, goal orientation and test anxiety will be discussed.
Course Content Factors affecting learning Motivation theories, role of knowledge and interest in learning Goal orientation, learning styles and locus of control Emotional factors affecting learning (self efficacy, task value and expectation) Cognitive factors affecting learning (strategy, metamemory and memory) Learning to learn: Getting ready, time management and self regulation Study habits: concantration and attention, critcal thinking Note taking, impressing teacher, classroom discussions Preparing for exam, test anxiety
